Before moving to Spotify I had discovered a duo group called EarthGang that’s Johnny “Olu O. Fann” Venus and Doctur “Eian Undrai Parke” Dot. These guys are from Atlanta Georgia apparently from the same place as OutKast and Future.
The duo are signed to DreamVille Records and before that they had released two albums which are Shallow Graves for Toys (2013) and Straywith Rabies (2015) and had also released five extended plays (EP) which are The Better Part – EP (2010), Torba – EP (2015) and a trilogy of EP’s which are Rags- EP (2017) where they have featured people like J.I.D Childish Major and Mick Jenkins, Robots – EP (2017) which has one of my favorite singers slash rapper to release an album in 2017 SiR and the latest one being Royalty – EP (2018) where they featured Ari Lennox and Mereba. The trilogy projects where all released while the guys were signed under DreamVille with the first one Rags –EP being released 5 days after they were signed to the imprint.
They have appeared on a couple of very nice projects like West 1996 Pt. 2 by Lute and The Never Story by J.I.D who are both signed to DreamVille and they are said to be members of a bigger group in terms of numbers called Spillage which consists of J.I.D, Hollywood JB, Jordxn Bryant and Johnny Venus. As Spillage Village they have released three projects which are Bears like This (2014), Bears like This Too (2015) and the latest one being Bears Like This Too Much (2016).
I actually think these guys, Ari Lennox and J.I.D are some of the best signings by J. Cole’s DreamVille Record as I feel they are a representation of the future generation of the R&B and Hip-Hop if you want to see if I am lying I suggest you listen to the trilogy by EarthGang, Pho by Ari Lennox and The Never Story by J.I.D and you will get to see what I am telling you please also note that the trilogy by EarthGang is actually a precursor to their album called Mirrorland which is going to be released sometime this year.
