On the 12th of March last year Spotify launched in South Africa and then after using it for a while I ended up dumping my Google Play Music subscription for being on Spotify Premium. The way I love their service so much that I have successfully migrated everyone who was on my Family plan on Google Play Music to Spotify and everyone is paying for themselves 😁.

From Spotify’s perspective they say that the year has been great for on the technical side of things as they have made many partnerships with local musicians, labels and on the software and hardware partnerships with them having 2000 software partnerships and around 400 partnerships, yeah I hear you asking things like what do they mean when they say they have made software and hardware partnerships the answers are simple it’s stuff like Google Maps, Waze, Samsung, Sonos and they also say they have more on the way.

On the music side, Spotify being Spotify has released some music info as in who was the most streamed local artist by South African subscribers and which song local song was most streamed by South African subscribers.
